A COMPLEX NICKEL ALLOY FORMULATION WHICH CONTAINS VIRGIN TUNGSTEN CARBIDE PARTICLES
ProCus 23 IS AN ALLOY FORMULATION DESIGNED TO ENABLE THE EASY MANUFACTURE OF CUSTOM DESIGNED MASONARY DRILLING TOOLS.
ProCus 23 is a complex nickel alloy formulation designed to tenaciously bond tungsten carbides to a variety of base metal types
ProCus 23 consists of virgin tungsten carbides in a super strong nickel alloy matrix. The matrix formulation has an extremely high tensile strength and also employs special wetting agents which enable the alloy to permeate deep into the grain boundaries of the base material. The special wetting agents in the alloy also aid superior bonding to the tungsten carbides. The superior wetting and high strength bonding of the alloy matrix ensures that the tungsten carbides are held tenaciously to the base material, resisting the impact the carbides are likely to be subjected to during a drilling operation.
The tungsten carbides used in ProCus 23 are dense and have a temperature tolerance of 2,600 ºC (4,700 ºF). This high temperature enables the tool (tungsten) to be subjected to work where high temperatures are likely to be generated. This will be like insurance when refractory materials like reinforced concrete, or hard rock or bricks, need to be drilled or cut.
Before applying ProCus 23 it is preferred that the base material is degreased. ProCus 68F alloy can be used to tin the surface of the material the carbides are to be bonded to. While the matrix is in liquid form, the tungsten carbides can be selectively positioned.
